The SECURITY OFFICER REGISTRATION ACT "SORA"

Marion Security Agency is honored to announce the Agency as one of the first in the State of New Jersey to be approved and licensed as a SECURITY AGENCY, pursuant to the "Provisions of Title 45, Chapter 19A of the Revised Statutes, and Supplements and Amendments thereto" of the recently enacted Security Officer Registration Act; N.J.A.C. 13:55A. Marion Security Agency .... "SORA" License Number 1007 .... proudly became a New Jersey State Licensed Security Agency effective 07-02-2007. Marion Security Agency´s Private Detective License Number 3226 under the PRIVATE DETECTIVE ACT OF 1939, effective 01-21-1982, remains active and in full force - "THE DIFFERENCE IS CARING"!

Leadership skills and honorable demeanor are essential in the world of private security! The Marion Security Agency Security Officer has a duty to serve and protect the valued client in an honorable and professional approach. Coupled with effective leadership, high moral and honorable performance places the Security Officer in an all-important position of influence in securing, maintaining and protecting the client’s interests. Proficiency as an honorable leader endows the Security Officer with the proper tools necessary in facing today’s security issues and challenges. Similarly, informed and honorable leadership is not particularly restricted merely to the Security Supervisor. On the contrary, sharing command by all Security Officers is necessary in accommodating the ever-changing expectations of private security. Honorable leadership skills are critical for each and every Security Officer in the function of his/her execution of duty!

On January 8, 2007, the State of New Jersey implemented new regulations concerning the licensing of Security Officers. The requirements of these new regulations are strictly monitored and enforced by the New Jersey State Police. In compliance with New Jersey State regulations; active Security Officers and persons who desire to become a Security Officer in the State of New Jersey must apply to the New Jersey State Police for a license while paying a non-refundable fee of $75.00. These applications are being accomplished, by appointment only, at Marion Security Agency’s Red Bank Headquarters via an Internet application processing center. Additional fees encompassing compulsory fingerprinting, background-check processing and training provisions apply and will be reviewed at the time of the initial application. Accordingly, all Security Officers will have an opportunity to participate in the enhanced and specialized training of the new SECURITY OFFICER REGISTRATION ACT (SORA) provided for by Marion Security Agency and mandated by State Law. This appropriate, additional training will equip the honorable Security Officer to lead others in setting high standards, while improving the quality of duty for other security practitioners, the valued Marion Security Agency client and the community itself!

"SORA" SECURITY OFFICER INSTRUCTORS

Marion Security Agency´s President, Bob Phillips and Marion Security Agency Inspector/Instructor, Terry O´Rourke are together graduates of the inaugural "SORA" Security Officer Instructor Certification Course provided for by the Private Detective Unit of the New Jersey State Police. Subsequent to the inaugural "SORA" Security Officer Instructor Certification Course; Brenda Bullock, of the Marion Security Agency Personnel Department likewise achieved her "SORA" Instructor Certification from the New Jersey State Police. It is an honor to officially proclaim therefore Bob, Terry and Brenda to be qualified, professional Certified Security Officer Instructors in accordance with the SECURITY OFFICER REGISTRATION ACT "SORA”.
